Mark of the Potter

Mark of the Potter started in 1969 in an old mill on the banks of the Soque River in the mountains of northeast Georgia. It is the oldest craft shop in the same location in the state of Georgia.

We staff four potters and support over 30 regional potters as well. To compliment their work there's a wide selection of metal, glass, jams and jellies, T-shirts and local books. We also have Somethin's Cookin' in the Mountains, a cookbook/guide to the Northeast mountains featuring local recipes.

Watching a potter work at the wheel on weekends remains a part of the Mark of the Potter experience. Shop for unique crafts, explore Grandpa Watts' Mill, enjoy picturesque scenery and sit on our back porch and feed our pet trout in their natural habitat.
