Stephen W. Ramsden, Director of the nonprofit The Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project will be bringing his nationally renowned solar astronomy outreach program at Unicoi State Park and Lodge on January 20th (weather permitting) for hours of viewing and imaging of the Sun in all its life giving ferocity.

You will be able to use his collection of the finest, observatory quality solar telescopes on Earth to witness firsthand many solar features including solar flares, sunspots, prominences, filaments and magnetically active regions. Mr. Ramsden will also have a complete imaging setup available for you to take your own picture of the Sun if you want to.

Bring your friends and family to enjoy this very rare opportunity. Everyone will receive a free pair of certified solar viewing glasses for their very own.

There is no need to pre-register for this event. Come by any time and stay as long as you want on January 20th.
