SENIORS AT THE CENTER POTLUCK LUNCH AND LECTURE

Open to Members and non-members

Seniors at the Center has a long and integrated history at Sautee Nacoochee Center and is important for its contribution to the venerable members of the community. Come join our "50 Something" group for a wonderful potluck lunch, camaraderie, and special speakers who elaborate on all manner of topics - Blue Suede Shoes to Global Warming, with a healthy dose of local history and community issues thrown in.

No admission except a dish to share

Join us for a potluck lunch and fun the first Tuesday of every month except January and our summer break months of June, July and August. Each month's program features a speaker, concert or demonstration. Check our website for details of upcoming senior luncheons.

Prior to the program we will have our potluck lunch, so please bring a dish to share. Decaf and water are furnished, as well as paper and plastic plates and utensils.

March 6

"Ethnobotany:  If plants Could Talk, A Cherokee Relationship"

Gather at 11:30, lunch at Noon, followed by presentation.

Learn about how the Cherokee people in southern Appalachia relied on plants for their survival, adapting them for food, medicines, tools, shelter, and ceremonial purposes.  Our speaker, Tony Harris, is 2018 President of the Georgia Trail of Tears Association.  He is active with Cherokee Garden projects in Georgia and Oklahoma.
