Yonah Mountain Vineyards First Annual Crush Fest

Sautee-Nacoochee, GA: Yonah Mountain Vineyards is excited to announce Crush Fest, a celebration of Yonah Mountain Vineyards' first grape harvest. Crush Fest will be held Saturday, September 4 (Labor Day Weekend) at Yonah Mountain Vineyards, a 197 acre estate located at 1717 Highway 255 near Cleveland, GA.

Rarely do grape growers, wine producers and wine enthusiasts have the opportunity to celebrate a new vineyard's first harvest, and Crush Fest will be designed to make the most of this landmark event. Grape stomping, including a grape stomping contest, a’ la Lucille Ball (the “I Love Lucy” show) will highlight the day. Live music all day will be provide the soundtrack. Local restaurants will sell foods paired with Yonah Mountain Vineyards' wines, and a variety of vendors will be selling local products and wine related merchandise.

Crush Fest will run from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. The $10.00 admission fee will include a tasting glass and samples of Yonah Mountain Vineyards wines, a special barrel tasting and entry to this historic event. Crush Fest is also an opportunity for wine enthusiasts to visit Georgia’s only wine cave.

Yonah Mountain Vineyards were established in 2005. The first vines, Chardonnay (clone 96 on 101-14 rootstock), were planted in early 2008.

Cabernet Sauvignon followed in 2009. The Yonah Mountain Vineyards tasting room opened in Sautee-Nacoochee in 2009. At the tasting room, locally produced wines are poured and sold under the Yonah Mountain Vineyards and Serenity Cellars labels.
