The unfortunate closing of the Blackstock winery in late 2012 paved the way for a complete renovation and re-vitalization of the property. Our future is exciting with plans that include a Hotel and Cottages, and a new event facility. The winery, built upon the apex of a ridge topping a 1,600 foot elevation, offers the most exquisite mountain view in North Georgia and incomparable vineyard views from its tasting room, enhanced by the proximity of our Estate vineyards.

We produce hand-crafted complex wines that cater to the serious enthusiast, but with a sense of balance that is both easily approachable and enjoys wide appeal. Our goal in the tasting room is to provide an educational experience for those with a passion to learn more about wine, and in a very relaxed, down-to-earth environment. Enjoy a glass of wine and the expansive window views of the Blue Ridge. Or enjoy the cool summer breezes on our 2,000 square-foot covered deck.

All Kaya wines are currently made exclusively from estate grown grapes produced from the winery property. The Werkheiser family believes that wine is made in the vineyard, and our wines represent specific field selections grown to fulfill their particular niche and style. Our vineyards are planted with classic European varieties. These cultivars are much more challenging to grow than local varieties, but they are far more rewarding in depth and complexity. As well as possessing a traditional flavor, which will appeal to the serious enthusiast. All our grapes are hand harvested and gently processed in our state of the art wine cellar. The processing equipment and our techniques are meticulous, but the real secret lies in the managementof the vineyard.

Ask about a tour of our barrel room, where select lots are patiently matured in oak casks. The temperature and humidity controlled barrel room is the perfect environment for the slow and traditional integration of flavor and aroma between the wood and fruit. We are open daily, year around, with the exception of major holidays. Please call or check the website for specific times. We look forward to serving you and sharing the Kaya experience!
