Nestled in the scenic mountains of Northeast Georgia lies the small Alpine village of Helen. In the heart of this picturesque and romantic setting is the Alpine Wedding Chapel where dreams come true every day for people in love.

Ceremonies are performed in one of three decorated sites: the Little Chapel, the Garden Room, or the Chapel. Intimate and cozy, the Little Chapel seats up to 12 guests. Secondly, the Garden Room, featuring an indoor gazebo and reception area, seats up to 25 guests. Thirdly, our beautiful cedar Chapel features a 22-foot cathedral ceiling, crystal chandeliers, and seating for up to 40 guests.

All ceremonies include: an ordained minister, decorations, CD music, silk bouquets, boutonnieres, lighted candles, dressing rooms, a DVD or video, and photos. Also available as options are receptions, renewal of vows and photo CDs.

To set up a ceremony at the Alpine Wedding Chapel: First call 1-800-873-9351 to determine availablity, Pay your deposit with a credit card or mail a check for your deposit- a reservation is not complete until we receive your deposit, Apply for a marriage license at the appropriate probate court. On the day of the ceremony, bring your marriage license and the balance you owe to the chapel.

Helen, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the Chattahoochee River, is a re-creation of an alpine village complete with cobblestone alleys and old-world towers. This Northeast Georgia has a rich history linked to the Cherokee Indians and their burial mounds as well as early settlers who arrived in the early 1900's to mine for gold and cut virgin timber for a thriving lumber industry.

Helen's evolution into an alpine village began in 1968 when a group of local business men met to discuss ways to revitalize their town. They approached a nearby artist friend, who had been stationed in Germany. He sketched the buildings, added gingerbread trim, details and colors to the buildings, giving an alpine look to the entire town. In January of 1969, business owners and local carpenters began turning ideas into reality and all downtown stores were renovated. Faces of buildings were painted with scenes of Bavaria and North Georgia, mirroring the migration of early settlers.

Helen has accomplished much; it has created a town and industry, providing jobs for more people and boosting the economy of the entire area. Helen also commemorates its historic past when the early settlers came to this remote area. A village with mountain heritage and a touch of Bavaria, Helen offers a unique experience for its visitors.

This is the story of Helen, the miracle of a small, remote mountain community that revitalized itself in various ways throughout several centuries and today hosts nearly two million visitors per year.

The DeNormandy House offers a breath taking view of the North Georgia mountains. You enter the property through a formal court yard that seats 200 guests for the perfect outside wedding with the mountains as your backdrop. Once you enter the double French doors you are standing in the grand foyer with a beautiful crystal chandelier framed by double black lacquered railings running up both sides of the stairs to the Bride's Quarters. The entire top story is dedicated to the deluxe Bride's Quarters. The DeNormandy House will accommodate up to 125 guests seated inside and up to 200 outside. The grand ball area consists of three adjoining spacious rooms with a fireplace, adorned with windows and Franch doors across the expanse of the back house. The French doors open onto patios with more spectacular views of the gardens and mountains beyond.
